Soul Wars, a Jagex-created minigame, was released to Runescape 3 for the first time on February 10 in 2009. The game was then voted on by the players and exceeded expectations. It was then included in OldSchool Runescape on January 6th 2021. It is therefore the first major update to be released in 2021.

To enter Soul Wars, one must access the Soul Wars portal in Edgeville or the Ferox Enclave Dungeon. It is located west of the abandoned mausoleum and south-west from the bank. The portal will take the player to Nomad's camp. There, players will learn how to play Soul Wars and exchange Zeal to earn rewards. The northern portion of the lobby area is safe from player versus player combat while the southern area is a danger zone and allows PvP battles.
How to begin and requirements to play a game of Soul Wars
To play Soul Wars, you'll need:
A total of at least 500
A combat level of 40 or higher
Old School RuneScape Membership
You'll also have to sign in to the dedicated Soul Wars worlds that as on the 9th day of January 2021. These are Worlds 320, 332 and 329. 331 341, 336 350 477, 535, and 320!
After you've completed Nomad's tutorial you can access the lobby and play in an actual game. By entering the respective waiting rooms, you are able to choose to join either the Red or Blue team. Capturing a graveyard allows your teammates to use the graveyard for an additional place to respawn. It is important to note that you'll always be respawned at the same graveyard where you died!
The strength of your avatar can be restored by burying your avatar's bones in the graveyard.
PRO TIP 2: Choose the activity that is best for you!
We recommend the following activities for low combat players:
killing NPCs to get bones and burying the bones at the Allied Graveyard.
Killing NPCs in exchange for Soul Fragments and sacrificing them at the Soul Obelisk.
If you're a skilled combat athlete, we suggest that you help your team by engaging in the below activities:
Fighting or defending the Soul Obelisk
Invading or defending the graveyard
Affronting the Enemy Avatar or Defending your Team's Avatar.
OSRS Soul Wars Rewards
While playing Soul Wars, you will earn both Zeal as well as Zeal Tokens. Zeal is a way to display your entire Soul Wars score. Zeal Tokens can be purchased in the Soul Wars Reward Shop.
They are awarded when you win a Soul Wars game is over. The amount you receive is contingent on the amount you contributed to the game.
